I think you have an error in th 1956 medal list. You list a john Mccormack as winner of the Bronze medal for Boxing, I think it was won by Billy Fisher from Craigneuk ABC. I’m not sure of the year but I know Billy won the Olympic bronze as I used to spar with him and Chic Calderwood at CBC.

Sorry Jim, your memory has failed you in this case.

Check out the official Olympics website at http://www.olympic.org/

A nice website that shows what 1956 Melbourne/Stockholm medals actually looked like is: http://olympic-museum.de/w_medals/wmed1956.htm

Sorry again Jim, and hope this helps settle any bets!

4. Jonathan Wilkie - 2008-09-05

I am hoping someone can help me I am trying to track down David John Wilkie MBE who won a gold medal at the 1976 olympics in motreal. Any information on where he is now or what he is doing would be greatly appreciated as we are currently researching our family tree and have found out we are related to him and believe he would also hold other clues to our family history

any emails with any information would be greatly recieved

Jonathan Wilkie

Hello Antony,

I am looking for an autograph of Willie Fisher since many years. Do you know, if he is still living in Wishaw? Do you know his address?
