Digital Music Awards 2006 2006-10-22

There were 19 awards presented at the refurbished Roundhouse venue in London’s Camden borough, 13 of which were voted for by music fans via www.dma06.com and six of which were decided by a panel of experts.

The full list of DMA winners is, as follows:

Best Pop Artist in association with ‘TV Hits’ : Lily Allen;
Best Rock Artist in association with ‘HMV’: ‘Muse’;
Best Urban Artist in association with Touch: ‘Lemar;
Best Electronic Artist or DJ in association with Mixmag: ‘Lorraine’;
Best Unsigned Artist in association with ‘Channel4.com/music’: ‘The Wonderfuls’.

Best Podcast in association with ‘BT Podshow’: ‘London Elektricity’;
Best Radio Station in association with ‘Packard Bell’: ‘Gaydar Radio’;
Best Music Store: ‘Bleep’;
Best Music Magazine: ‘NME.com’;
Best Event or Performance site: ‘Download Festival’;
Best Music Community in association with Vice: ‘Last.FM’;
Best Artist Promotion: ‘White Stripes’ — ‘Denial Twist’ project;
Best Use of Broadband: ‘MTV Overdrive’;
Best Use of Mobile: Thom Yorke ‘Moblip’;
Best Artist Campaign: Thom Yorke – ‘The Eraser’;
Best Innovation: ‘MySpace’;
People’s Choice Award for Best Music Blog in association with ‘Metro’: ‘Mike & Ted Mayhem’s blogs’;
People’s Choice Award for Best Unofficial Music Site: ‘Muse’ fansite;
People’s Choice Award for Best Official Music Site: Official ‘McFly’ site;
The Pioneer Award: Peter Gabriel.
