TV presenter Kirsty Allsop came 91st in the FHM magazine poll the 100 most sexy women in the world. Just ahead of — her at 83 — was soprano Katherine Jenkins, also making her first entry in the chart.

They both beat supermodel Kate Moss, who has dropped out of the top 100 altogether. She was 68 last year. Another notable absentee was Myleene Klass, who was 67th in 2007.

There were three Brits in the top 10 – pin-up Keeley Hazell (3), Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole (7) and actress Keira Knightley (10).

Transformers star Fox, 22, was a new entry along with Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy and model Agyness Deyn.

Fox knocked last year’s winner Jessica Alba off the top spot. The Californian beauty had to make do with second place this time.

The 16 re-entries included Victoria Beckham and the Minogue sisters, Dannii and Kylie.

FHM’s editor-in-chief Anthony Noguera said:

‘Megan Fox is a very deserving winner of this year’s FHM title.

‘From out of nowhere, she’s captured the hearts – and fantasies – of British men to capture the No1 slot.

‘With such incredible competition, and after just one major film role, that is an amazing achievement.’

Some 20% of the women in the list were 26. Forty-six were blondes, 52 brunettes and two red heads.

There can be no definitive list, as there are regular additions. However, here’s a list of well established ‘Superfoods’. (more…)

To Grace the front cover of ‘Time magazine’ is regarded as a real accolade, a sign that you have made it.

The likes of Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev and ‘The Beatles’ have taken pride of place in the journal’s hall of fame, epitomising all that is great and innovative in society. The cover stars’ names read like a Who’s Who of the world stage, providing a social commentary of our time.

But this week, as ‘Time magazine’ publishes a special issue to celebrate six decades of the magazine’s European edition, entitled ’60 Years of Heroes’, it has thrown up some unlikely candidates for the title of hero.

The Blue Flag has become the definitive international measure of beaches since it began back in 1987.

It is regarded as a highly effective monitoring system, because it measures everything from accessibility for disabled visitors through to the number of bins provided and litter left on the beach.

Water must be clean enough to have achieved the highest standard defined by European Law.

Award winners can fly a Blue Flag during the bathing season and must display their water quality and the facilities they provide on easy to read beach signs. (more…)
