Vivus Inc‘. today announced that ”The US Food and Drug Administration‘ (‘The FDA’) has accepted for filing the company’s new drug application (‘NDA’) for its investigational drug, ‘Qnexa‘, for the treatment of obesity.

The target date for ‘The FDA’ to complete its review of the ‘Qnexa’ ‘NDA’ is 2010-10-28.

In previously announced pivotal phase 3 trials, patients treated with all three doses of ‘Qnexa’ achieved significant weight loss compared to placebo, and significant dose-related improvements in a variety of secondary endpoints including reductions in cardiovascular, inflammatory and metabolic risk factors. Hunger Trigger in Food 2009-06-08

New research led by The University of Cincinnati (UC) suggests that the hunger hormone ghrelin is activated by fats from the foods we eat—not those made in the body—in order to optimise nutrient metabolism and promote the storage of body fat.

In a poll by The Government’s Know Your Limits campaign of 1954 adults, only 37% of drinkers admitted that having more than two pints of beer or two glasses of wine makes them over-eat and ditch the healthy diet (63% said they maintained their healthy diet) — just 29% said they ordered (more…)

Mr.Seth Roberts is a 52-year-old psychology professor at The University of California at Berkeley.
