The UK no longer enjoys the highest net household income in the continent; last year it was 10 000 GBP above the European average, whereas now it is just 2 314 GBP ahead, slipping below Ireland, The Netherlands and Denmark. (more…)

A ‘power revolution’ in the UK will be promised by Mr.Nick Clegg (Lib-Dem, Sheffield-Hallam) today as he tries to put his personal stamp on ‘The Coalition Government’ in his first major statement as Deputy Prime Minister.

The Liberal Democrat Party Leader will hail his programme of political reform as the most ambitious and radical since ‘The Great Reform Act of 1832’. He has told aides that ‘The Coalition Government’ has given him the opportunity to implement the changes that he came into politics to pursue.

UK Has Poorest Quality of Life 2009-10-12

According to the UN, the UK has been ranked the 21st best place in the world to live prior to the recession, and a recent uswitch report puts the UK as having the worst quality of life in Europe.

The report highlights the long hours, bad weather, low life expectancy and high price of many consumer goods in Britain. (more…)
